THERE ARE 25 MILLION PEOPLE IN TEXAS, WHERE ARE THE JAZZ CLUBS?
This poll will serve to help persuade investors and/or club owners, to tell them that creating
some exciting new Jazz clubs is a very timely consideration for the Texas jazz community as a whole.
THE GOAL: To create a stronghold for Jazz in Texas to rival, or equal, that up and down the East and West Coast.
JAZZ AFICIONADOS, please help! JAZZ MUSICIANS, please unite! TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE THIS HAPPEN!

The Goal: To create a stronghold for Jazz in Texas to rival, or equal,
the clubs up and down the East and West Coast.
I appreciate that restaurants hire musicians. However, we are not talking about restaurants that bring in a solo, duo or trio from 6-8 or 7-9, once or twice a week.
We are talking, new jazz clubs, with a sound stage able to accommodate a grand piano and a 12 piece band if needed, with stage lights and ambient lighting throughout the club, and a house sound system for visiting acts, one that has been tuned to the room by way of a spectrum analyzer, and the music goes from 9pm until 2am, nightly, and later (afterhours) when permitted.
It would be an upscale environment, with a dress code and minimal cover charge. This is a small price to pay for great ambience, great musicians, and great music. Anyone who wishes to become actively involved in helping to bring great Jazz clubs to all the fabulous cities of our great state please contact me, Jimmy Duran. You may, or may not, be aware of the fact that there is a huge number of very talented jazz musicians in Austin, Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio. As well, I am certain that you are aware of the need for new clubs for Jazz in all of the major cities across Texas.
Jazz Aficionados will have more choices of clubs to attend and performing artist to enjoy.
Jazz Musicians will have more opportunities to perform.
Local (unsigned) Jazz Artists, Sunday thru Wednesday, two groups sharing the stage each night.
Touring (signed) Jazz Artists, Thursday thru Saturday, with a local group opening for the touring artists.
This will have a far reaching effect in that we will be promoting Texas, National, and International Jazz Artists.
